1 Peter 3:18
A missionary was once asked where God was when an orphan died. To which she replied, "The same place He has always been . . . with the orphan. The better question is: 'Where were you?'"
The Bible tells us that God is with us in our suffering. It tells us that He is with the orphan and the widow and First Peter 3 says that He demonstrates this at the cross. First Peter 3:18 says, "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God."
In other words, God brought good things out of Jesus’ suffering. He used the cross to bring us to God. And, if God could bring good out of that, He could bring good out of anything. If He could bring good out of the death of His Son, He could bring good out of the suffering of an orphan or the suffering of anybody. Are you suffering today? Rest assured that God can bring good out of it. Are you going through a difficult time? Remember that He is in the same place He has always been. He is right by your side, and please join us this Sunday morning at 46024 Riverside Drive in Chilliwack as we talk about that. We meet at 9:15 and all are welcome. Bring your Bibles and an open heart. – Jeremy Cagle
