1 Peter 3:19-22

1 Peter 3;19-22

1 Peter 3:19-22 is considered to be one of the most controversial passages in the Bible. Commentators are deeply divided over what it all means, but the overarching message is clear: Jesus is Lord of all. The main point is an encouraging one: there is nothing outside of His control.

Are you worried about where our society is headed today? Does the news get you down and afraid? Is it hard to watch leader after leader plunge headlong into scandal and disgrace?

Peter says that Jesus is sovereign over that. He says that, just as He was sovereign over the terrible days of Noah, so He is sovereign over our terrible days as well. Just as He brought eight persons "safely through the water" (verse 20), so He will bring us safely through it if we trust in Him. Join us this Sunday morning as we study this amazing passage and draw strength and hope from it. Come to 46024 Riverside Drive in Chilliwack and celebrate with us as we remember that Jesus is Lord of all. – Jeremy Cagle
