Psalm 119:105-112

Psalm 119-105-112

In 2006, an English mountain climber died on Mt. Everest after he stopped moving. His death did not cause him to stop moving but the cessation of movement did cause his death. He perished from hypothermia some time after he fainted and collapsed on the mountain.

The church of Jesus Christ is like that. If it stops moving, it dies. If it stops working for the Lord, it ceases to exist. No one wants to go to a passionless church and no one wants to go to a motionless one. We all want to be found faithful when the Lord returns (Matthew 24:46).

But what are we supposed to be doing? How does the church stay active for the Lord? How does it keep moving? Psalm 119 says that it does it through worship. We stay passionate as we give praise and glory and honour to our God. We keep moving as we learn how to love and adore Him. As verse 111 says, “I have inherited Your testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart,” and that joy causes us to worship.

Have you stopped moving in your Christian life? Do you feel like you are freezing to death on the mountain? Come join us this Sunday morning as we find the solution to that. Have you lost your passion for the Lord? Have you lost your joy? Do not fear. The Word of God has answers for that as well. It is “a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (verse 105), and it can restore your love for Him. It can bring back your joy. Come join us at 9:30 to hear more. We meet at 46024 Riverside Drive in Chilliwack. See you there! – Jeremy Cagle
