Romans 10 & 11
Neil Marten, a member of the British Parliament, was once giving a tour of the House of Parliament to some friends when they came across Lord Hailsham, a leading figure in the government. Hailsham immediately recognized Marten in the group and cried out in a loud voice "Neil!" Not daring to disobey the command, the entire group of visitors promptly fell to their knees.
There are times when the Bible should have a similar effect upon us. There are times when we should read it and promptly fall to our knees. One of those times is found in Romans 10 and 11. In those chapters, Paul talks about the future of God’s people, the Jews. He tells us what will happen to Israel. And he concludes by saying in Romans 11:33: “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” In other words, this is a doctrine that should cause us to kneel. It is something that should cause us to say “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen” (verse 36).
Has it been awhile since you have kneeled before God? If so, please join us this Sunday morning at Grace Fellowship Chilliwack as we study a doctrine that should have that effect upon us. Has it been awhile since you said “Oh, the depth” and “To Him be the glory forever?” Come join us as we study a subject that brought those words out of the Apostle Paul. We meet at 9:30 at 46024 Riverside Drive in Chilliwack. We look forward to seeing you there and worshipping with you. – Jeremy Cagle
