Why Did Jesus Come?
The World Book Encyclopedia defines Christmas as “a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.” The encyclopedia goes on to state that “Christmas is the happiest and busiest time of the year for millions of Christians throughout the world and people of different countries celebrate the holiday in various ways.”
But it raises an important question: why do we celebrate this holiday at all? What is so important about the birth of Jesus Christ? Seven billion people have a birthday every year, but what makes His so special? To answer that question, this Sunday we will be having a Christmas Eve Service at 9:30 a.m. to talk about “Why Did Jesus Come?” If you would like a quick preview, we will discuss 5 reasons why He came: to fulfill God’s Law, to call sinners, to bring a sword, to seek and to save what was lost, and to give life.
Please pray that Jesus would be glorified in this special service on Sunday morning. Please pray for our worship team and children as they minister to us in song. And pray that our lost friends and co-workers would know the Saviour Who was born among us. Pray that they would understand the significance of “the happiest and busiest time of the year.” We meet at 46024 Riverside Drive in Chilliwack. See you there! – Jeremy Cagle
