Ministry Overview

The goal of Grace Fellowship's Children's Ministry is to help parents "bring [their children] up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4. We also seek to provide a safe and nurturing place for the very young to be cared for while their parents worship. We welcome you to familiarize yourself with our Children's Ministry by reading more below. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, suggestions or comments.

Our nursery is available for babies ages newborn until they turn two. Workers are present in the nursery five minutes before the service starts. You can bring your child any time after this. When you drop off your child, you will be asked to fill out a sign-in sheet with some basic information. You can leave your cell phone number as well, and we can contact you by text if your child needs you during the service. The nursery is located downstairs: turn right, go to the end of the hall, and it is the room on the left side.

Sunday School:

Starting at age two, children are invited to enjoy worship with their parents during the singing and prayer portions of the service. Before the sermon, children are dismissed to go to their Sunday school classes. An interlude of music occurs to give parents an opportunity to take their children out without missing any of the sermon. Children are always welcome to stay in the service with their parents if they choose.

For ages two through five, parents should accompany their children to their class each week, and make sure they are signed-in by the teacher. The first time you visit, the teacher will ask for some information about your child such as name, age and any allergies. Following the service, you need to pick up your children from these classes as well.

Children ages six through eleven should be taken to their class by a parent or guardian the first time they visit. The same information is given to the teacher. Next time, children are welcome to walk to class themselves when they are dismissed from the service. Following their class, these children will be dismissed independently.
We offer the following Sunday school classes:

  • Toddlers (ages two through three) meet downstairs: turn right, and the room is the first door on the left.
  • Preschool & Kindergarten (ages four through five) meet downstairs: turn right, and the room is straight at the end of the hall.
  • Grades one through two meet downstairs: turn right, and the room is the second door on the right.
  • Grades three through six meet across the parking lot in the gymnasium building in the fireside room (located between the kitchen and washrooms).

Our teachers are all volunteers who serve for a month at a time, to offer continuity to the class. They are carefully selected for character and maturity.

For all of our classes we use the Generations of Grace curriculum. "Generations of Grace is designed to magnify God by studying His character in the pages of Scripture. We can better understand who He is and how we are to respond to Him by studying how His redemptive plan has unfolded and how He has used men to accomplish His purposes. Over a three-year period, this curriculum covers the entire narrative of God's redemptive plan." (See
