50 Things to Remember During a Lockdown

To the GFC Family,

A friend of mine from Los Angeles recently called to see how I was doing. In his own words, he said, “I saw on the news that things were crazy in Canada. What is going on up there?” I found it ironic that someone from Los Angeles would be so concerned with the craziness of Canada but it does highlight the fact that this is a strange time for the country. With the new announcement last week concerning the travel restrictions, things keep getting weirder and weirder.

However, the good news is that the Bible has answers for times like this. It tells us how to handle it when life gets difficult. And, in light of that, I wanted to give you a list of “50 Things to Remember During a Lockdown.” They are short and to the point but they are all things for you to consider and meditate on during this difficult season. Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” I pray that these things will help you to see that the Lord is a shield and a refuge to you at any stage of life.

50 Things to Remember During a Lockdown

1. Remember that Jesus’ kingdom is not of this earth.
2. Remember that Jesus was not a politician and neither was Peter or Paul or any of the Apostles.
3. Remember that your struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness.
4. Remember that Satan is in this world and, until Jesus returns, you will have to contend with him.
5. Remember that He Who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
6. Remember that a day will come when God will make all things right.
7. Remember that He who began a good work in you will one day finish it.

19. Remember that God is saving sinners and the angels are rejoicing over it.

49. Remember that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you.
50. Remember that Jesus is coming soon.
May the Lord help you to meditate on all of this and find encouragement during these difficult days. Philippians 4:8 says,
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

In Christ,
Jeremy Cagle
