Grace For Your Day July 5
(1 John 3)
God is Love: Children of God Love One Another
John is called the Apostle of Love. He was an eyewitness of Jesus. John walked and talked with Jesus, he watched Jesus heal many and teach others. John watched Jesus die and he saw Him after God raised Him from the dead. He also saw Jesus ascend into heaven.
In 1 John 3 God is presented as love. Love that includes giving, dying, forgiving, and blessing. I believe that this truth can motivate us to be closer to Him.
John encourages us by saying that “we know” these things. We can have confidence and assurance because we are children of God who love each other as God loved us.
We don’t do this perfectly yet, but a time will come when we will. John tells us that when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him just as He is. Until then, we rely on the Holy Spirit to transform us and we become more Christlike each day. Through all this, we have our hope fixed on Jesus.
Do you know God? Do you know that you have eternal life? The truth is that we can know.
If you want to be encouraged with assurance and confidence in your faith as a child of God and to grow in love for one other, please come on Sunday as we go through 1 John 3.

For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
