Grace For Your Day January 2

The opening lines of our Vision Statement state that:

Our vision is to proclaim "grace upon grace" to Chilliwack, British Columbia and to the ends of the earth. John 1:16-17 says, “For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.”

At Grace Fellowship, we believe that salvation is all of grace and not of works. We believe it is something that God alone accomplishes in our lives, and nothing we contribute to ourselves. We believe it is unmerited favor, where Jesus earns the Father’s approval and, in His mercy, gives us the benefits of that through His shed blood on the cross and victorious resurrection from the tomb. Since we have received all of this, it is our vision as a church to proclaim grace upon grace in several ways:
We proclaim grace upon grace through the Bible.
We proclaim grace upon grace through worship.
We proclaim grace upon grace through evangelism.
We proclaim grace upon grace through service.
We proclaim grace upon grace through counselling.
We proclaim grace upon grace through leadership.
We proclaim grace upon grace through equipping the saints.

Since many of you are new to our church, this material may not be familiar to you. However, when our congregation first started, Grace Advance encouraged us to create a document that explained who we were and what we were trying to accomplish as a ministry. After several weeks of work, this is the article that we put together and I thought it would be good to review it with you in order to help you learn more about us.

Since it is so long, we cannot cover every point in one sermon so we will just look at the first one which says:

Because the Bible is the revelation of God’s grace, we at Grace Fellowship Chilliwack are committed to preaching it in our pulpit and to teaching it in every aspect of our ministry. The Bible has been called the traveler’s map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, and the Christian's charter. It is the Word of God, the Sword of the Spirit, a lamp for our feet, and a light for our path, because it proclaims grace. It loves to talk about the unmerited favour of God and to tell people how to find it through Christ. Therefore, we love to teach the Bible as a church.

Needless to say, we have a high view of Scripture here at Grace. We hold it in high esteem and strive to make it the foundation for all that we do. However, it is always good to see how our commitment to Scripture is being fleshed out in the life of the local church day-by-day which is what we are going to do this Sunday morning.  In light of the new year, we are going to look at how our love for Scripture will be upheld and put into practice in 2023. We will also listen to several testimonies from some members of our church as to how the Lord has chosen to use GFC to bless them over the past year. You do not want to miss it because it should be a wonderful time.

Our service will begin at 9:30am and will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel for all those who cannot make it in person. Also, if you would like to learn to more about our Vision Statement, you can read it at the following here
